Zero-knowledge proofs, or ZK proofs, embody a profound paradox: truth without revelation. You prove you know something without showing what you know. The mathematical structure guarantees truth independent of human understanding. This proof is mathematically valid and it has its own inherent beauty. But the semantic content, what was actually proven, remains invisible. You are witnessing the aesthetics of epistemological asymmetry.

I'm excited about the Roc Camera and ZK technology in general, and integrating it in my art practice. More to come.

Over the years I have experimented with all kinds of social media. In 2006 I created kaïrolog during an artist-in-residence in Townhouse Gallery in downtown Cairo, Egypt. Later, like most, I went down the path of big tech social media. When in 2022 I suddenly lost my IG account for unknown reasons, I set out on a quest in the world of decentralised social.

I ran a Mastodon instance, feralmimesis.xyz, now abandoned. After that I became active on Farcaster protocol as part of one of the first group of users. Halfheartedly tried Bluesky. Recently I realised maybe decentralised social media is just having many kinds of social media to choose from and true ownership of your social digital identity is just running your own. So that's why I am starting from where I begon, a self hosted microblog :)

Manton Reece, founder of Micro.blog defines microblogging thus:

A microblog post should have these qualities:

Should have a feed, usually RSS or JSON Feed

Does not have an RSS item title.

Contains short post text, usually 280 characters or less.

Obviously I'm doing it my own way, like I would encourage anyone to do. But I think most important is having an RSS-feed. As feedreader I recommend NetNewsWire

To find other microblogs go and explore:

Bear blog
Kagi small web

A special mention goes out to elle's homepage following along on RSS ;)

#0090 - misha de ridder / fine art print 125 x 100 cm

opening 17 jan 17-19 hrs | on view until 7 feb 2026

Salon Amsterdam is an exhibition co-organised by a group of 11 Amsterdam galleries, on view for four weeks across the city.

On January 17, eleven simultaneous vernissages take place across the participating galleries: Althuis Hofland, Galerie Caroline O'Breen, Ellen de Bruijne PROJECTS, Depth of Field, dudokdegroot, LANG, Stigter van Doesburg, tegenboschvanvreden, TORCH, Galerie Wouter van Leeuwen, and Martin van Zomeren.

Salon Amsterdam is a group show that stretches across galleries. Together, we turn the Hazenstraat area into one simultaneous exhibition. This initiative refers to the 18th- and 19th-century Parisian artsalons, where walls were filled with artworks from floor to ceiling. The name Salon Amsterdam nods to those historical salon exhibitions. This group exhibition is about density, curiosity, and the pleasure of looking.

Galerie Caroline O'Breen brings together archival highlights and new works in dialogue.

misha de ridder presents a selection of iconic archival images, shown alongside new work from the winter edition of the 'generative by nature' series.
